Well, this shows up at the government copyright site:

Matango.

Type of Work: Motion Picture
Registration Number / Date: RE0000517590 / 1991-01-02
Renewal registration for: PA0000435874 / 1963-08-11
Title: Matango.
Copyright Claimant: Toho Company, Ltd. (PWH)

Names: Toho Company, Ltd.

Perhaps billbarstad or another regular can shed further light on this. (What I'm best at is finding renewals for films released before 1950, since I have the HathiTrust text on my computer.)

By the way, the William Hope Hodgson story upon which the movie is very loosely based is very creepy. It's titled "The Voice in the Night" and it can be read here:

His eerie novel of the Sargasso Sea can be found here:

Well, the info you're showing is enough to convince me that it's copyright. This film has been taken down before and this one should be removed as well. This backs up what I thought. Thank you, Moongleam.

BTW, I read "The Voice In The Night" from your link. Very Lovecraft-like. Kind of inspires me to get off the dime and open up my copy of "The Best Of John W. Campbell" and read "Who Goes There", the basis for "The Thing". Just have to make time for more reading.
